Introduction

KubeOpera is an open, AI-native platform for running applications on Kubernetes. It brings cluster management, application delivery, observability, cost control, security, and a team of autonomous AI agents together in one place — so platform teams can operate Kubernetes at scale without stitching together a dozen separate tools.

Where most platforms stop at dashboards, KubeOpera closes the loop: it detects problems, decides what to do, acts on your clusters, and learns from the result.

Who KubeOpera is for

If you are a…KubeOpera helps you…
Platform engineerProvision and operate clusters across AWS, GCP and on-premises from a single control plane, with tenancy, quotas and policy built in.
Application developerShip an application from a Git repository or container image in a few clicks — no hand-written YAML — and see its logs, metrics and traces in one view.
SRE / DevOps engineerGet anomaly detection, automated remediation, incident management and an AI investigator that explains why something broke.
FinOps practitionerSee real-time cost per namespace and workload, forecast spend, and apply right-sizing recommendations with one click.

What you can do with it

  • Manage many clusters as one. Provision, register and upgrade clusters on AWS EKS, GCP GKE or your own infrastructure, and give each team an isolated virtual cluster.
  • Deploy without YAML. Describe your app — image or repository, ports, resources, scaling — and KubeOpera generates the manifests and delivers them through GitOps.
  • Observe everything. Health scores, metrics, logs, traces, SLOs and application performance, all correlated per workload.
  • Heal automatically. A reactive AI pipeline spots anomalies, applies safe remediations, measures whether they helped, and tunes itself over time.
  • Investigate with AI. Launch reasoning agents that use live tools to inspect your cluster and hand you a ranked root cause and a fix — or let them launch themselves when risk rises.
  • Control cost and risk. Cost forecasting, right-sizing, predictive scaling, continuous security scanning and compliance scoring.
  • Automate from your own tools. A REST API and webhooks let you drive KubeOpera from scripts and CI pipelines.

Choose your path

KubeOpera has two halves: a web dashboard (Next.js) and a set of backend services (Go) that run inside Kubernetes. How you start depends on what you want to do.

Try the dashboard locally

The quickest way to explore KubeOpera is to run the dashboard on your machine and point it at an existing KubeOpera backend.

git clone https://github.com/ochestra-tech/kubeopera
cd kubeopera
cp .env.example .env.local # set the backend service URLs and credentials
npm install
npm run dev # opens the dashboard on http://localhost:3000
tip

Read .env.example in full — each variable is documented inline. In particular, keep AUTH_APP_ID (read on the server at request time) and NEXT_PUBLIC_AUTH_APP_ID (compiled into the browser bundle at build time) set to the same value, and rebuild after changing the public one.

Connect to a deployed environment

If KubeOpera is already running in a cluster you can reach, forward the dashboard to your machine:

kubectl port-forward -n kubeopera-core svc/kubeopera-frontend 3000:80
# then open http://localhost:3000

Sign in with the platform administrator account created during installation (see Installation).

Install the full platform

To stand up your own KubeOpera environment — backend services, databases, message bus and dashboard — follow the Installation tutorial. It walks you through both supported methods: GitOps with Flux, and the standalone Helm chart.
