Customer Onboarding

In this tutorial you'll go through KubeOpera as a brand-new customer: create an account, get your own isolated CloudSpace, deploy your first app and get advice about it from the AI Advisor.

Time: about 15 minutes · You'll need: an email address. No Kubernetes experience is needed.

Step 1 — Create your account

Open /auth/sign-up and fill in:

FieldNotes
EmailUsed to sign in and for verification.
UsernameUnique, at least 3 characters.
First and last nameUsed to personalize your workspace.
PasswordAt least 8 characters.

Select Create Account. KubeOpera emails you a 6-digit code.

Sign in with Google, GitHub or single sign-on

Choose Continue with Google or Continue with GitHub — or your organization's single sign-on — to skip the form and email verification. You'll go straight to Step 3.

Step 2 — Verify your email

Enter the 6-digit code on the verification page. Codes expire after 10 minutes — select Resend code if yours has. You're then taken to sign in.

Step 3 — Get your CloudSpace

Sign in. Because you don't have a CloudSpace yet, KubeOpera takes you to /onboarding, which sets one up for you:

  1. Setting up your space. KubeOpera creates your organization and its default CloudSpace — your own virtual Kubernetes cluster — and installs everything it needs: Flux for deployments and your own App Advisor. This usually takes one to two minutes.
  2. Your space is ready. You'll see your CloudSpace's name. You can rename it later.
  3. Go to your workspace. You land on /home.

You can start exploring while the last steps finish; your CloudSpace's status on /cloudspaces changes from provisioning to active when it's done.

Curious what happened behind the scenes? See Multi-Tenancy: onboarding a new tenant.

Step 4 — Explore your workspace

Your home page (/home) shows:

  • App health — how many apps are healthy, degraded or stopped.
  • CloudSpaces — your spaces and their usage.
  • AI Advisor — the latest advice for your apps.

The sidebar has everything you need:

SectionPathWhat it's for
Home/homeYour workspace overview.
Cloud Spaces/cloudspacesYour virtual clusters.
Workloads/workloadsYour apps.
Pipelines/pipelinesYour CI/CD runs.
Monitoring/monitoring/*Performance, cost, security, incidents, SLOs, APM and traces for your apps.
AI Advisor/advisorAdvice and chat about your apps.
Team Members/settings/teamInvite colleagues and manage their access.
Support/supportTickets and live chat.

Everything you see belongs to your organization only — other tenants' data is never visible, at any layer.

Step 5 — Deploy your first app

Select Add App on /home, and follow the wizard — or work through Deploy your first app for a guided walkthrough with a sample app.

Your app runs in your CloudSpace, with its own HTTPS address.

Step 6 — Meet the AI Advisor

Open /advisor. Within a few minutes of your first deploy, the AI Advisor:

  1. Recognizes what your app does — e-commerce, API service, ML training, data pipeline, authentication or analytics — from its image, labels and configuration.
  2. Writes advice specific to that kind of app, such as "checkout services should keep at least two replicas during business hours."
  3. Answers your questions in a streaming chat — about performance, scaling, reliability or cost — using your app's profile, advice and live metrics.

The Advisor only ever sees your own apps: it runs inside your CloudSpace, and every request is checked against your organization.

Classified wrongly? Next to the app's type, select Override, choose the right one and save. Future advice uses your choice.

Common questions

My CloudSpace is stuck on "provisioning". Provisioning retries automatically. If it shows Failed, the page explains why — select Retry, or contact your platform administrator (see Multi-Tenancy: when provisioning fails).

How do I rename my CloudSpace? Open it on /cloudspaces and choose Rename. The display name changes; the underlying vCluster name stays the same.

How do I invite a teammate? Open Team Members, enter their email and choose a role. They get their own login and access to your organization's CloudSpaces.

I need a separate environment — for example, staging. On /cloudspaces, select New Space. Each CloudSpace is a separate virtual cluster with its own quota, networking and secrets.
